Carew Family Centre II
As part of National Play Week, the EastSide Early Learning Community (ELC) hosted its Play Day 2023. In alignment with our aim to promote opportunities for playful learning within the home and in the community for children 0-4 years old, the event offered families the opportunity to experience different forms of play. The planning team worked hard on ensuring activities highlighted the important role different types of play have in children’s brain development and how easy it could be to try them out at home. We did this by offering activities that were accessible and replicable and modeling playful interactions that families could try at home. We also focused on providing clear messaging on the importance of play and creating messaging cards that included ideas to try at home and why a particular type of play supported children’s development.
